All parents try to prepare their children for success in the classroom,
on the playing fields and other areas of life. Coach Berry recognizes
what it takes to be successful and has done a remarkable job working
with both groups (as team coach) and individuals (one-on-one instruction).
His basketball program is based on understanding and applying basic
fundamentals of offense and defense, the building blocks upon which
success is achieved. John is fiercely competitive and expects, better
yet, demands that each individual attempt to perform up to his or
her potential. He achieves this by taking the time to assess an
individual's skill level and work ethic, then develops a program
to improve both. I have seen him work with players of varying abilities
and he has made them all better.
John is able to "connect" with these young impressionable
players because he is willing play and coach alongside of them,
never asking them to do anything that he won't do or demonstrate
himself. Coach Berry constantly challenged my son to raise the level
of his play and has been an instrumental figure over the years as
team coach and one-on-one instructor. I highly recommend the services
of Coach Berry to young aspiring basketball players. He will improve
the fundamentals of their game and inspire commitment, all important
lessons for success in basketball and other endeavors.
