The angry parent

Three months ago, while in the supermarket, I ran into a parent. She asks, “Why aren’t you running any in-gym, in-person basketball camps?” I responded with “Due to COVID, I don’t want to take any chances, where a kid may contract this horrible virus.”

The parent replies, “Baloney! No one is going to catch anything!” Without going into all the back-and-forth, I simply said, “Let’s agree to disagree.” She didn’t like that, and was very angry at me!

Recently, I received an email from this same parent. She shared how her son was at another vendor’s camp, where several kids contracted the COVID virus. The camp was abruptly shut down. Luckily for her son, his test came back negative.

The parent apologized for berating me, and acknowledged she understands why I’m not running in-person camps. I told her it was no problem. I totally understand. What we are all facing is something unlike anything we’ve seen before.

She’s now fully onboard with the virtual basketball camps we’re offering.

The virtual basketball camps are effective, safe and fun! You can expect the following from your kid: improved basketball skill, increased physical fitness and over-flowing confidence!
