To the J.F. Webb Basketball Family,
To the young men of J.F. Webb Basketball, I am truly excited to get to work with you.
I believe this team has tremendous potential, but success will not come easy. We will have to earn it through hard work, discipline, teamwork, trust, and a commitment to getting better every day.
My promise to you is simple: I will challenge you, support you, hold you accountable, and do everything I can to help you reach your goals. I want to help you grow not only as basketball players, but also as students, teammates, leaders, and young men.
That is why I coach.
Coaching is my passion, my joy, and one of the great loves of my life. There is nothing better than watching a group of young men come together, believe in one another, and accomplish something they may not have thought was possible.
I want to thank the J.F. Webb interview committee for conducting such a thoughtful and thorough process. I also want to thank Athletic Director Keionte’ Gainey and Principal Larry Ferebee for believing in me, having my back, and trusting me to lead this program. I am grateful for that trust, and I do not take it lightly.
To my wife, Erica Berry, thank you for your love, patience, and support. To my right-hand man, Andre Nabors, thank you for always being there. Thank you to Pastor Barrett Freeman for his wisdom and guidance, and to James Thurston, Demetrius Brown, and Big Fred White for your friendship and support.
A special thank you to my fraternity brother, James Walker, for your guidance throughout this process. Words cannot fully express how much I appreciate you. You’re the best.
To the thousands of players, parents, coaches, friends, and supporters who have been part of my journey over the years, thank you. Each of you has played a role in shaping the coach I am today.
Now it is time to begin a new chapter.
To the J.F. Webb players, this is about you. I look forward to learning your goals, helping you grow, building strong relationships, and seeing what we can accomplish together.
I truly believe we have an opportunity to do something special.
